Our guide is an extensive list of Pennsylvania caregiver resources, including financial assistance, food services, legal assistance, nursing home information and more. Call 800.779.6962 (TTY: 711) if you are a Capital Blue Cross HMO member, or 866.987.4213 (TTY: 711) if you are a Capital Blue Cross PPO member to get a copy mailed to you.

This resource is for assistance with many areas of your life. Enter your Zip Code and all available resources in your area will be listed, including their address, phone number, and email. This includes help with legal, long-term care, or health insurance questions.

Report elder abuse

Elder abuse can happen whether the person lives in their home or in a care facility such as a nursing facility, personal care home, or hospital. When reporting abuse, you can remain anonymous and have legal protection from retaliation, discrimination and civil or criminal prosecution. Abuse is not only physical, but can also be mental or financial. Common signs and symptoms of abuse include:

  • isolation
  • weight loss
  • bruises or broken bones
  • increased confusion
  • unusual withdrawals from any account
  • signing over one’s home to another
